Organo‐Hydrogel Electrolytes with Versatile Environmental Adaptation for Advanced Flexible Aqueous Energy Storage Devices

With growing demands for portable electronics, flexible aqueous energy storage devices such as supercapacitors and Zn-based batteries have drawn tremendous interest from both academic industrial fields. Organo-hydrogels, crosslinked amphiphilic polymers filled with organic solvents water, are regarded an ideal electrolyte candidate electronic applications, especially due to their superior environmental adaptation. Organo-hydrogels can reserve the advantages of corresponding hydrogels achieve some unique features broad temperature tolerance, high mechanical stability, strong interfacial interaction, decent ionic conductivity. This review outlines composition fundamentals, preparation methods, comprehensive properties reported organo-hydrogel electrolytes. In particular, that operate under harsh conditions unusual deformations endowed by electrolytes further highlighted. Moreover, a perspective on current challenges future development directions is also provided.
